Da Roma a Firenze... From Roma to Florence

I got back to Genova last night and today is my mom's birthday. I miss her like crazy. I've never been so far away from her on her birthday. This is something very strange for me. Now she's 53 years old... I can't believe it. Where does the time go? I don't know. Like a song from the band Negrita: "The world goes faster than me." But, who knows why? Anyway, here's some information about my trip to Rome. Rome really is the Eternal City! There are ruins everywhere! It wasn't as grandiose as I thought it would be but I liked it a lot. Other people probably thing the same thing when they visit Washington, DC. I learned that Rome is the city to eat Carbonara.. of course I had some! But before that, I saw some important spots of the city like the Colloseum, Villa Borghese, the Roman Forum, the Basilica of San Pietro, the Vatican, and the Pantheon. All in the same day -- don't ask me why! If you want to know, according to my pedometer it was about 23, 750 steps (about 21 km). A good workout I know!

More info about the trip to Rome...
For the first time I went to the club in Europe. It was a different experience! I liked it though, and I want to do it again some time. Maybe without the 3 cups of espresso that I drank before going... seriously, a bad choice -- but I was a little "in the zone" monday night. Funny, I know! (Everyone knows I'm a little crazy).
Okay, so tuesday morning there was a parade for the Festa della Reppublica. I took many fotos of it and afterwards I went shopping with Andreas.. **note: Andreas is the tutor I had in the US for Italian.. he's from Greece but he's lived in Italy for like 13 years so he knows the language well enough** Why with a guy? Because I don't like walking aroun big cities by myself. You could say it was for security purposes. There was a store in Via d'Corso where I bought a purse (finally) because my little filas backpack had broken on the train. I loooooooooooooooove my new purse! It's very spacious and convient with a belt to carry it hands-free. Okay, so I also bought a gift for my sister and two post cards for my grandparents.
This weekend I'm gonna sleep, write more, and walk around the city a bit.

Time is one of the aspects of reality that intrigue me the most. How does it flow and why? Does it flow around us, or us around it? One thing is for sure is that there's never enough for us yet there is an infinite amount... go figure...

Time also plays a part in music. I love to play the drums (though right now I only have a Rockband 2 set... sad.) Subsequently, I play the guitar which is also a percussion instrument and based highly on timing.

My goal in life is to find a way to displace time or maybe even reverse it. Of course it's relativistic, so it's not REALLY reversed... but appears so for the subject. While doing so I hope to achieve a way to control gravity.

And that's how a simple question like "where has the time gone," puts me into an inquisitive and possibly autistic state.

Distance also boggles me. It's pretty obvious for most but I have a hard time understanding what distance really is, and why it takes (again) TIME to pass a distance... it's very inconvenient. I think there's a better way but I need to learn more math and physics.
