La prima settimana in Italia
Buongiorno a tutti! Oggi è venerdì e quasi il fine della mia prima settimana in Italia! Ci sono molto a raccontarvi! Andiamo iniziare con martedì.
Martedì e Mercoledì
Ho comprato un telefono e ho datto un'esame orale per scoprire in quale corso io sono. Sono nella clase di intermedio 1. Ho mangiato la pizza alla Genovese -- lunedì sera avevo gìa mangiato la pizza italiana per la prima volta ma tutti sono meglio che negli stati uniti anche ci sono più tipi da cui scegliere. Per pranzo ho mangiato i veri gnocchi. Come si dice? MMMMMMMMMM! Fa caldo qui è c'è sole, perfetto per me. Infatti, e come il sud degli stati uniti. Che peccato che gli altri studenti non possano piacere il tempo come io. Dopo la cena, abbiamo fatto un giro nella città per avere un buon senso delle zone sicure e dove sono le zone che no siano secure. Dopo quello, sono tornata a casa mia per dormire.
Giovedì
Mi sono svegliata alle 7:30 di mattina. Dopo vestirme, ho fatto colazion e sono uscita per scuola. Mi piace il corso di lingue, e veramente una buona programma, e non è così difficile. Gli altri studenit sono più vecchi di me, ma non mi importa. I miei professori si chiamano Valeria e Stefano, e loro sono molte simpatici. Sono incontrato una ragazza giaponese, un uomo giaponese, un uomo di swizzera, una donna di Finland, e una donna di Germania. Che forte, no? Nel pommeriggio ho avuto un corso di cultura. Penso che sarebbe un corso divertito perché è un corso di poesia e musica. Dopo la lezione, ho mandato un email a voi del mio viaggo. C'era una festa nella città con musica, balla, ed altre cose come cibi di gratis. Ho fatto molte fotografie di tutti, ma dobbiate aspettare verderle. Altra cosa buona: ieri sera la scuola ha paghato per la cena!
Venerdì (oggi)
Finalmente potrebbe scrivere del mio viaggio nel questo diario! Ieri sera ho fatto moli compiti, e por quello non ho potuto dormire molto. Per dolce dopo pranzo ho mangiato le fragole con gelato.... mama mia! Il ristorante dove mangiamo insieme per pranzo si chiama il Sorpasso. Un luogo molto bravo! Ieri di pomeriggio, c'era un piccolo problema. Il nostro professore, Alessando anche ensegna ad un'altra scuola per i bambini da èta quasi 4 a 14. TROPPI BAMBINI! Era un po' rumoroso, ma anche interessante. Abbiamo dovuto guardare un evento culturale delle vite de'immigranti in Italia e d'Italia. Mi è piaciuto. Più tarde alcune sono andati a vedere Star Trek in italiano al cinema, ma ho deciso rimanere a casa e dormire.

Hey everyone! Today is friday and almost the end of my first week here in Italy. There is much to tell you all! Let's begin with tuesday.
Tuesday and Wednesday
I bought a telefone and took an oral exam to find out which course I have to take. I'm in the intermediate level 1 class, by european structure. I ate pizza alla Genovese -- the local specialty here. Monday I'd already had italian pizza for the first time, but everything here is better than in the US and there are more types of pizza to choose from. For lunch I had TRUE gnocchi. How do you say? MMMMMMM. It's sunny and hot here, perfect for me. Just like home. It's a shame the other students can't enjoy it like I can, but oh well. After dinner we took a walk through the city to get a good sense of where to go and where not to go.
Thursday
I was up at 7:30am for school and after getting dressed and eating breakfast we set out on a long, hilly walk through the city to get there. I should tell you all, dogs piss and crap ANYWHERE they please in this city so you really have to watch your step when walking. For this reason I am sooooo glad I didn't wear sandals this week. The city has the mountains at the back and the sea at its front so the lancscape is very hilly with lots of cobblestones and very old buildings... but it's kinda growing on me :) I like my language course, it's a very good program and it's not too dfficult. My professors are Valeria and Stefano and they're very nice. I've met a girl from Japan named Midori, an older man from Japan named Yoshi, a man from Switzerland, a lady from Finland, and another lady from Germany. Cool, huh? In the afternoon I had my culture course with my professor Alessandro. I think it should be a fun class. After class we were walking and got to see a festival in town. There was music and dancing and some other cool things like free food, which I know of no person who would turn that down! I took a bunch of photos, but you have to wait to see them! Another awesome thing - the school paid for dinner!
Friday (oggi)
Finally! Finally I have the time to write all of this down in my blog! Last night I had to do homework so I didn't even sleep that much. By the way, today's dessert was without a doubt strawberries and gelato! OH MY GOD! The place we eat lunch is called Sorpasso and you all have to go there if you ever find yourself in Genova. Okay, so yesterday there was a little problem for when we had to meet our professor Alessandro for class. He's a teacher in the historic part of Genova... kinda the ghetto ... at a school for kids about age 4 to 14. TO. MANY. CHILDREN. It was a little loud, but a little interesting. The kids here kinda dress like emo kids in high school in the US but withou skateboards. It was alright though because we got to see a cultural event put on by the school that talked about immigrants in Italia. Much later, some people from out group went to see Star Treck at the movies (dubbed) but I opted to stay in and get some rest.
Okay that's enough! The cultural lesson is starting for today!

Settimana dieci / Almost to the end!
Va bene, oggi è il 14 Maggio. Andro' a Italia fra 10 giorni! Che emozionata! Il sabato scorso la mia cugina Melissa si è laureata di North Carolina A&T. Sto così contenta che lei sia finita con il suo BS! Domani la sua madre (la mia zia) si laureá con il suo dottorato! Impressivo, no? Credo che sia perché educazione è una cosa molto importante alla mia famiglia. Anch'io penso che lo sarebbe per tutti al mondo. Educazione è la ragione che io esista adesso. È una parte cruciale della storia della mia famiglia.
Ma posso parlare di quella un altro tempo.
Stiamo qua nella settimana dieci! L'ultima settimana per i miei corsi undergrad! Festeggerei ora ma non sono finita con tutto il mio lavoro. Per carita, non lo sopporto più! Quando saró finita?! Presto. Abbastanza presto. Cos'altro della mia vita? Ho scritto un email fra per 40 minuti solo degli informazioni per la mia famiglia. Era del mio viaggio a Italia, por quello parlavo dei voli dei contatti emergenzi, etc. Secondo me, è importante che loro siano informati. Sono a un transizione nella vita e (a volte) ho paura del futuro. Sempre è un buon idea prottegare.
No posso pasare più tempo srivando in un blog. Devo andare al labortorio.

Okay, today is May 14th and I'm going to Italy in 10 days! How exciting! Last saturday my cousin Melissa graduated from North Carolina A&T and I'm so happy that she's finished her BS! What's more is tomorrow her mom (my aunt) is graduating with her PhD! Impressive, right? I think so because education is very important to my family-- and I think it should be for everyone! Education is the reason I exist today and it's a crucial part of my family's history.
... but I can talk about that another time.
Here we are in week 10! The last week of undergraduate classes! I'd celebrate now, but I'm not done with all my work yet :( I can't take this anymore! When am I'm done? Soon, very soon. Though personally I think not soon enough. What else about my life? I wrote an email for 40 minutes just about information for my trip coming up. It was for my family, and I like keeping them imformed. I'm at a transition in my life and sometimes I'm a little scared of the future. It's always a good idea to plan things.
But yeah, I actually should stop writing, I've gotta go to the lab.
